May 15, 2014 – As part of the EU program on criminal justice reform in Uzbekistan (EU Project Support to Criminal Judicial Reforms in Uzbekistan DCI ASIE 2009/020-509), Tashkent hosted a round table dedicated to issues associated with the provision of independent legal aid.

May 15, 2014 – As part of the EU program on criminal justice reform in Uzbekistan (EU Project Support to Criminal Judicial Reforms in Uzbekistan DCI ASIE 2009/020-509), Tashkent hosted a round table dedicated to issues associated with the provision of independent legal aid. Participants of the round table included Ravshan Akhmedov, chairman of the Lawyers’ Chamber of Uzbekistan, judges, attorneys, representatives of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Justice, and professors from the Tashkent State Institute of Law. Andriy Kosylo, a partner of Kosylo&Partners, discussed the institutional fundamentals of independent legal aid in accordance with German, Polish, and Uzbek legislation.
