Interview with Dr. Andriy Kosylo for Polish Radio for Ukraine on the activities of the Register of Damage for Ukraine, established by the Council of Europe (Register of Damage for Ukraine). The Register aims to record all admissible claims for compensation for damage, loss, or destruction caused by the act of Russian aggression against Ukraine or on its territory. Its operations are carried out exclusively in electronic form – through a secure digital platform that enables the submission, processing, and systematisation of claims and supporting evidence. The claim submission procedure is entirely online and designed to be as user-friendly as possible. The main function of the Register is to collect and process claims and related materials, including their categorisation, classification, and organisation according to established criteria. The Register’s Board evaluates submitted materials and verifies their compliance with the established requirements. All claims deemed admissible are entered into the Register for further consideration and assessment. The establishment of the Register of Damage for Ukraine is an important international step and the first stage in creating a mechanism aimed at ensuring justice and providing compensation.
